Growing recreational activities (whale watching, deep sea fishing, cruises) businesses need independent book keeper/accounting professional. Responsible for general accounting & finance including: accounting, employee benefits, payroll, cash posting, billing & accounts payable. Responsible for routine month-end close procedures which entail preparation and the recording of journal entries. Identify control and/or process inefficiencies a propose enhancements to the current process striving for continuous improvement.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Very organized and meticulous.
- Must have good computer skills. (Quick Books Pro, Excel, etc)
- Must have excellent knowledge of accounting and book keeping terminology.
- Should be hardworking, independent and must have a strong work ethic.
- Be available during regular working hours is preferred (9am-5pm). However in order to meet deadlines primarily during the summer months, he or she must be willing and able to be flexible concerning work hours.
- An associate's or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred but not required. Good references are vital.
