| C. B. Perkins Co. Is a 3rd generation family business, with a guitar shop situated in San Jose, California. The business started in 1923 when Charles Blaine Perkins, a music teacher, needed working instruments for his students. He started to learn the art of stringed instrument repair, or luthiery. After a while, he decided to open his own shop, and he taught his son Kent the trade as well.
